Paul – back pain to gym confidence

When Paul came to the Hub, he was struggling with extreme lower back pain and sciatic symptoms radiating into his leg. Understandably frustrated, his goal was clear; to be pain free and to return to the gym with confidence, so he could build strength and reduce the risk of future flare-ups. 
 
Paul saw Emily for an initial assessment where a full MSK screening took place. He was listened to, thoroughly assessed, and given a clear plan forward. Treatment started with targeted, progressive exercises and simple, evidence-based reassurance to help him understand what was happening and how he could take control of his recovery. 
 
Over the following weeks, Paul committed to his programme with patience and consistency. As his symptoms settled, he was guided through gradual progressions; rebuilding strength, improving confidence, and learning how to move well again. 
 
Now, Paul is completely pain free and back in the gym feeling stronger than ever. His story is a brilliant reminder of what can be achieved with the right support, clear education, and a plan that focuses on both recovery and long-term resilience.
