Martin – management of complex pain

Martin, in his 50s, came to the Rehab Hub looking for ways to better manage ongoing, complex pain that was beginning to affect his quality of life. Although his symptoms varied from day to day, one thing was constant, the frustration of not feeling in control of his body.

Working closely with our Osteopath, Ollie, Martin has found a balance that allows him to keep moving and stay on top of his pain. Through a combination of hands-on osteopathic treatment, including soft tissue work, gentle joint articulation and muscle release techniques, Ollie helps to reduce tension and improve mobility in each session.

Beyond treatment, much of their work together focuses on education, movement and self-management, helping Martin understand his pain, how to adapt on difficult days, and how to stay active safely. Simple strength and mobility exercises, pacing strategies, and tailored advice around recovery have all become part of his ongoing plan.

Now, Martin attends regular check-ups at the Hub to maintain progress and stay ahead of flare-ups. His proactive mindset and commitment to his plan have made a huge difference. He’s moving better, feeling stronger, and managing his pain more confidently than ever before, a great example of how consistency, understanding and the right support can make all the difference.
