Yvette – pelvic fracture
15 November 2024Yvette came to see Emily, our Sports Rehabilitator, for help with the rehabilitation of a nasty pelvic fracture. Yvette had previously worked with Emily the year before for a different injury, so it made perfect sense for them to start working together again. Whilst the fracture had already been diagnosed using an MRI, it was essential that Emily completed a thorough assessment of the injury to fully understand how best to help her and establish a safe and progressive rehabilitation pathway.
As a Sports Rehabilitator, Emily combines an in-depth knowledge of the mechanisms of injury, advanced assessments of movement, hands-on skills and a thorough understanding of rehabilitation exercises, to allow her to accurately diagnose, treat and prescribe exercises that can help with all areas of recovery. This level of understanding is crucial for the safe management of all injuries, but especially those that present with a variety of pain locations and pose several limitations on daily function.
Over the course of 6 appointments, Yvette has been making excellent progress. Her hard work and determination, in combination with Emily’s progressive and detailed rehab plan, has resulted in major jumps in functionality and quality of life. Yvette is more active, walking further, feeling stronger and more confident, and is pushing herself daily to achieve new goals that both she and Emily have set out together. We are so happy to see you progressing Yvette, and we look forward to continuing to support you in your continued journey towards recovery. Keep up the great work Yvette!
