Becci – back injury

Becci has now returned to her normal activities as a busy mum and keen gym lover, after a sudden back injury caused her horrible pain that wouldn’t go away even after three weeks of self-care and rest.  With Tom’s help she is now back to doing what she loves and she’s feeling much happier.

Becci called us for help in September and we triaged her symptoms over the phone to double check that it was safe for her to attend.  She was booked in for the next day to see one of our musculoskeletal practitioners, Tom Mitchell, who is a sports therapist by training.

As a sports therapist Tom was able to assess Becci’s spine, hips, and supporting soft tissues and understand what was going to be needed to rehabilitate her fully for her goals.

Over a handful of sessions Tom treated Becci’s back with manual therapy techniques such as sports massage and facilitated stretching to ease the discomfort and promote healing, and helped her progress her rehab exercises that developed the strength in Becci’s muscles and helped her move more functionally.

Becci diligently stuck to her rehab plan and kept in touch in between sessions when she had a query or problem, and Tom was able to reassure her or make changes as needed.

We are so pleased that Becci is now feeling better – lifting weights, running, and chasing around after her toddler Mason!

Great work Becci 😊
