Senior Physiotherapist Joanne qualified from the University of Brighton in 1993 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and has over 25 years of clinical experience. She worked for five years in the NHS before moving to the private sector in both an independent hospital and private practice. Additionally she holds an MSc in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire.
Joanne has extensive experience in treating all musculoskeletal problems as well as post-operative orthopaedic conditions such as total knee and hip replacement, spinal surgery, knee ligament and shoulder surgery both on the ward from day one after surgery through to outpatient rehabilitation.
Joanne is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Health and Care Professions Council, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MAACP), and the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MMACP). This organisation recognises the specialist standard of care in examination, treatment, and management for people with musculoskeletal conditions.
Joanne provides Physiotherapy for any musculoskeletal problem such as; neck and back pain, shoulder and upper limb problems, hip, knee and ankle/foot problems and has the following specialisms:
- Orthopaedic rehabilitation
- Pre/post-natal back and pelvic pain
- Work related complaints/posture and ergonomic advice
Physiotherapy treatment usually consists of a combination of manual therapy, a specific exercise programme and advice tailored to your needs. Other treatment modalities include taping and acupuncture for pain relief.
